Situated in Broadbeach, conveniently in the centre of the Gold Coast which, is home to some of Australia’s most significant tourist attractions as well as a myriad of restaurants and shops, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is the largest regional convention centre in Australia.

The perfect venue for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and special events, the Centre offers over 25 flexible meeting rooms, ranging from smaller spaces suitable for events for up to 50 people, to an auditorium accommodating 6,000. It also features four exhibition halls and offers a total exhibition space of 68,200 square metres. It is within close proximity to several hotels making it convenient for conference delegates and also offers a 24-hour car park.

Getting There

By Taxi or Uber
The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is a 30-minute car ride from the Gold Coast Airport. It costs approximately $60.00 one-way from the airport.

By Car
When traveling southbound from Brisbane (78km) take the Broadbeach Motorway Exit and follow the directions to Broadbeach. Just after the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre turn left at the next set of lights. This will bring you out onto the Gold Coast Highway. The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is situated on the corner of the next street, just after The Star Grand Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre’s carpark entrance is at the northern end of the building, accessible from traffic lights off the Gold Coast Highway and the main driveway off TE Peters Drive. Undercover car spaces are available for short-term parking. A $12.00 flat rate is charged for car parking at the Centre (subject to change).

By Bus
There is a bus stop directly in front of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway.

By G:link Light Rail
The service provides an easily-accessible and affordable transport option, with the Broadbeach North Station conveniently located just metres from the Centre’s main entrance. Services run 7-days a week, approximately every 10 to 15 minutes.

By Train
The closest train station is Nerang. It is about 15 minutes by taxi or you can also catch a Surfside bus.

Accessibility

Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is designed to ensure all guests have equal opportunity to  benefit from the Centre’s quality services and accessible facilities. They offer the ease of wheelchair, pram and supported walking access through to their main foyer with central lifts. Their disability parking bays are located conveniently in the carpark near the central lifts. The Centre is also equipped with ramps, braille signage, hearing ability services and toilet facilities suited to all needs.

Parent’s Room

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre offers an onsite parent’s room that is conveniently located on the ground floor near the main entrance of the building. Parents are provided with all the essentials to make their visit enjoyable, including a change table, kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator and comfortable seating options.

Broadbeach Conference App

The Broadbeach Conference App was designed to make your stay in Broadbeach as a delegate of a major conference at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre even more enjoyable.

Thanks to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and Broadbeach Alliance the app includes access to a variety of discounts and offers throughout the Broadbeach precinct, across a range of categories including shopping accommodation, restaurants, cafes, indulgence, attractions, services and venue. The electrical supply is 240 volts, 50Hz. The connection for appliances is a flat 3-pin plug of unique design. Most hotels provide 110 volt outlets for shavers.

The Tourist Refund Scheme allows international travellers to claim a GST refund (subject to certain conditions) on goods purchased in Australia. Name badges will be issued when registering at the conference. For security and identification purposes, the conference name badge must be worn at all times during the conference and social functions. Entry may be denied if no name badge is displayed.

Individual tickets will not be distributed for the social functions. Attendance to social functions will be printed on the name badges.

The late registration fee is charged for all registrations received within ten (10) working days to the start of the conference.

If this is your first time registering for PIX/AMC 2020, you will need to create a new account (even if you have previously attended the 2016 or 2018 conference). Once your registration is finalised, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that you are officially registered. Attached to this email will be your tax invoice and receipt as proof of payment.

Registrations will be open until the end of the conference allowing you to register at your convenience. We encourage early registrations to avoid the queue onsite.

Day registrations are available for the conference. Select your preferred day of attendance during the registration process.

Do I need to register for the AMC or PIX sessions in advance? 2019-07-22T22:20:11+10:00

Delegates are free to choose the sessions they would like to attend on the day, there is no need to register selections in advance. If you are planning to attend either the Breeder or Hatchery workshop, you will be asked to indicate your preference for planning purposes.

No, all payments must be received prior to the conference commencing.

How can I amend or cancel my registration? 2019-07-22T22:20:53+10:00

All cancellations and amendments cannot be accepted over the telephone. Cancellations and amendments must be sent in writing either to the Conference Organisers. All cancellations will be processed in line with PIX/AMC 2020’s cancellation policy.

The online registration form requires full payment at the time of registration. If you require a tax invoice, please complete the manual registration form or contact the Conference Organisers prior to completing the form.

Accommodation

Special rates have been negotiated for conference delegates at hotels nearby the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. These rates are only available to conference delegates and bookings MUST be made via the online registration form. Do not contact the hotel directly to book these rates.

No, all accommodation bookings must be confirmed and guaranteed with a credit card.

Will the credit card supplied be used to pay for the accommodation booking? 2019-07-22T22:37:48+10:00

In most cases, the card is used to guarantee the booking only. Some properties do require full payment prior to arrival, in which case this will be charged to the credit card supplied at the time of booking, subject to the applicable merchant fees. Otherwise, full payment can be made upon check-in or check-out depending on the hotel’s policy.

Yes, if you would like to pre-pay your accommodation please contact the Conference Organisers at registrations@pixamc.com.au who will request an invoice from the hotel on your behalf.

Each booking is managed through an event group block so hotels will often have this listed differently. For any and all accommodation queries, please contact the Conference Organisers at registrations@pixamc.com.au rather than going to the hotel directly.

When do accommodation bookings close? 2019-07-22T22:32:56+10:00

At 30 days prior to the conference, all unsold accommodation rooms will be released back to the hotels. After this point, all bookings will be made on a request basis and will be subject to the hotel’s availability with rates often different to the special conference rates. It is for this reason that we encourage all accommodation bookings to have been made before 30 days prior to the conference.

How can I cancel my accommodation? 2019-07-22T22:33:54+10:00

All cancellations and amendments cannot be accepted over the telephone. Cancellations and amendments must be sent in writing to the Conference Organisers. All cancellations will proceed in line with the individual hotel’s cancellation policy.

The Gold Coast go explore card offers tourists and visitors a simple and flexible option to travel on TransLink buses and trams on the Gold Coast. Available for adults for $10.00 and children for $5.00, passengers can access one day unlimited travel on all TransLink Gold Coast bus and tram services. This includes the G, route 777 with multiple stops between the airport and Broadbeach South station and theme park TX services.

Shopping

Broadbeach’s Pacific Fair is one of Australia’s largest retail centres with more than 300 stores, cinemas, and an array of casual dining. Shopping hours are normally 9:00am – 5:30pm on Monday to Friday, with late night trading on Thursday to 9:00pm.

Weather

The Gold Coast is blessed with wonderful weather, enjoying temperate climate with a mild and dry winter, and has more than 300 sunny days a year. Average temperatures in May and June range from 14°C to 22°C.
